This two evening class is part of a mixed“Triple Play” class with some participants doing Combing, some Screen Melts, and some Weaving.
You can choose to do one project in any one of the three techniques but also get a chance to observe and learn about the other glass art techniques.
Create spectacular glass art from scraps. Learn how the swirling molten glass creates elaborate intricate patterns. This class will teach you how to control dimension and size, how different colours react in a melt, and how to work with different COE glass. The size of melts is restricted only by the size of a kiln. Melts can be used to create amazing trays and bowls, or to be cut up to use as jewelry cabochons.
In the first class you will make a 6 inch diameter glass screen melt. In the second class you will prepare it for finishing and kiln firing to create a bowl or tray.
